Urban Alchemy/Gordon Matta-Clark opens this Friday, October 30, at the Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts. Check out our web catalog at http://mattaclark.pulitzerarts.org/ for information on the exhibition and videos with contributors, such as Jane Crawford, the director of Matta-Clark's estate and the artist's widow. On thing special about this exhibition is the works' placement in the Pulitzer's Tadao Ando building. From the press release:
"The placement of Matta-Clark’s work in the building by Tadao Ando offers the means to recall the artist’s lost interventions. Ando’s and Matta-Clark’s structures break the visual and symbolic boundaries normally associated with the architectural “box” by allowing light to penetrate spaces in unexpected ways."
